Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji criticized the new FIFA Club World Cup format:

I have been a critic of this tournament for a long time. We, the players, would really like to have more holidays and also more time to recover our bodies.

My teammates are also not too impressed with this tournament.

The FIFA Club World Cup will take place from June 13 to July 13.
