Lithuanian Goals Helped ‘Žalgiris’ Overcome a Deficit in Kaunas District

Another interesting match took place in the "TOPsport" sponsored Lithuanian Football A League between the teams of Kaunas district's "Hegelmann" and Vilnius' "Žalgiris". In a high-scoring match, the champions rehabilitated themselves in the second half – 2:2 (2:0).

The match started brilliantly for the hosts: in the 8th minute, Leo Ribeiro, who was given plenty of space in the penalty area, found Kader Njoya Abdel – the Cameroonian was precise. The Brazilian made his 12th assist, while the forward scored his 12th goal.

The Vilnius team had several threatening shots, but in the 35th minute, they conceded a second goal. During a counterattack, L. Ribeiro broke free and successfully shot from close range.

However, the champions showed character and erased the deficit – this was aided by Liviu Antalis, who recorded two assists. Ovidijus Verbickas and Kevinas Lukaševičius scored in the 54th and 78th minutes, respectively, in quite similar situations.
