The forward Lamine Yamal, who is negotiating a new contract with FC Barcelona, does not intend to be modest.
Journalist Victoras Navarro reports that the agency of the 17-year-old wonderkid shocked the Catalan club's management with their demands.
Joan Laporta, the president of the La Liga champions, gasped upon hearing the request to make L. Yamal the highest-paid player on the team. The agent's argument is simple: the athlete is already the most productive player in the team's offense.
This would be a burden for FC Barcelona, as the highest earners currently are Robert Lewandowski (€33 million per season) and Frenkie De Jong (€19 million).
The Catalans began to argue that these contracts are not indicative, as they were signed a long time ago, before making changes to the salary structure.
Currently, L. Yamal earns "only" €1.6 million a year.
