A few weeks ago, "Barcelona" fans heard great news - the "La Liga" club managed to keep forward Lamine Yamal in their ranks for a long time.
The 17-year-old talent signed a contract with the team that will last until the middle of 2031.
"Mundo Deportivo" revealed the behind-the-scenes details of the negotiations for the new contract.
The European champion was offered an annual salary of 40 million euros (before taxes) by "Barca," but he also raised additional demands.
L. Yamal wanted to be the team's main penalty and 11-meter shooter from now on. This way, he hoped to get more chances to benefit from the stipulated bonuses and, of course, to gain more honor.
However, not everything is so simple. In the previous season, these positions were reserved for Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, who are unlikely to step down for the young teammate.
According to the press, if "Barca's" leaders promised L. Yamal these privileges, head coach Hansi Flick will face a challenging task of managing player relationships.
