L. Ribeiro after victory over Vilnius 'Žalgiris': 'We proved everything on the field'

FK "Kauno Žalgiris" gifted their fans an Easter present and on Sunday evening in the away match defeated Vilniaus "Žalgiris" 3:0 (1:0), leaving no chances for the opposition. After the match, Leo Ribeiro, who scored the third goal and provided one assist, shared his comments.

"The atmosphere here was really good. It was a very tough match, but I think we came prepared and deserved these three points,” said the midfielder.

The Brazilian also shared his thoughts on the difficult moments of the first half, when the opponents created chances one after another.

"We played against a good team – they have high quality and good players, so we were lucky they didn’t score, as they really created good opportunities. I’m glad I could help the team at that moment when we counterattacked and found Fabien Ourega, who scored the goal. This was very beneficial for us, as it gave us more chances in the second half,” said L. Ribeiro.

The "Žalgiris" player also highlighted the hype created before the match.

"I really like being here, and playing against 'Žalgiris' is always not easy. I know they talk a lot, and they even posted a photo, which I think is disrespectful to our club. But we have to prove everything on the field,” said L. Ribeiro confidently.

The Lithuanian champions will play their next match on April 11 at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium, where they will face Kauno rajono "Hegelmann" – the former team of L. Ribeiro.
