Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has received recognition.

The Argentine has been named the best player of the MLS season for the second consecutive year.

This year, Messi scored 43 goals and provided 28 assists in 49 matches.

He became the first player to be named the most valuable player of this league twice.

On Saturday, Inter Miami defeated Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in the final.

This is the first title for this team in MLS history.
