Lionel Messi will no longer wear the Argentina national team jersey.

As reported by journalist Hernan Castillo, after the lost World Cup final (0:1) against Spain, the 39-year-old forward said goodbye to his teammates.

The legendary footballer gave an emotional speech in the locker room and thanked the players who fought for victories alongside him.

Messi played for the Argentina national team since 2005 and scored 125 goals in 207 matches.

The forward became an Olympic champion, triumphed twice in the Copa America tournament, and in 2022 fulfilled his biggest dream by winning the world championship.
