The PSG club managed to postpone yet another Ligue 1 match that could have interfered with the Champions League knockout stage.
The French Football Federation, with a rather firm hand, postponed the match between Lens and PSG that was set to take place on April 11, which would have been important in the title race. Lens did not agree to this, but the football authorities did not comply.
The Paris club's leader Luis Campos explained the situation by referencing the tragedy of Liverpool Football Club at Hillsborough in 1989, when many people lost their lives in the stadium.
"First and foremost, we would have liked to play the Champions League on April 7, and then the return match on April 15.
However, Liverpool cannot play on April 15 (the 1989 tragedy occurred on the same date), so we must respect their history, as it is a tragic date for the whole club," said L. Campos.
