In the central matches of the 18th round of the "TOPsport A League," the footballers of "Panevėžys" met with Vilnius' "Žalgiris." In a high-scoring and fluctuating match, the Vilnius team celebrated victory after nearly two months of interruption, with a score of 4:2 (2:2).

Already in the 16th minute, the young "Žalgiris" player Kevinas Lukaševičius received a pass from Liviu Antal and, with a weak but precise shot into the bottom far corner of the goal, put his team ahead.

In the middle of the half, "Panevėžys" faced a double misfortune. Initially, the specialist Rolandas Vrabecas had to make a forced substitution, as Rokas Rasimavičius was unable to continue the match. After a few more moments, a great combination by the "Žalgiris" team ended with a precise shot from L. Antalis.

Still in the first half, the home team managed to restore parity - E. Veliulis converted an 11-meter penalty earned by Pavle Radunovičius, and in the 32nd minute, Faustas Steponavičius found Abdoula Dante with a pass, who did not waste the opportunity and equalized the score.

After the break, both teams played actively, and the ball did not stay long in the middle of the field; however, both the attacks of "Panevėžys" and "Žalgiris" lacked precision in the final phase of the attack.

In the 64th minute, L. Antalis, who returned to "Žalgiris," spoke again - Joris Moutachy delivered a precisely accurate pass, and the Romanian directed the ball into the net defended by V. Černiauskas.

The score in the match was set by Henrique Devensas, who escaped from the opponents' defenders and misled goalkeeper V. Černiauskas, scoring his 4th goal of the season.

After playing exactly half of the championship matches, "Panevėžys" and Vilnius' "Žalgiris" both have 22 points and are positioned very closely in the league table.
