Kaunas Žalgiris won their third consecutive victory.

In the 18th round of the "TOPsport A Liga", a fierce battle took place in Gargždai, where the local "Banga" hosted "Kauno Žalgiris". The visitors, who performed better in the second half, outplayed the Gargždai team with a score of 2:0 (0:0) and solidified their position as leaders.

In the 5th minute, Amine Benchaibas made a strong shot towards Mantas Bertašius, who failed to catch the ball, and although Dejan Georgevičius sent the rebounding ball into the net, he was lurking offside. In the 24th minute, an unfortunate incident occurred in the Kaunas ranks – Fedoras Černychas, having sustained an injury, could not continue the match.

As the first half was coming to an end, a commotion arose near the Gargždai goal when, after Gratas Sirgėdas' delivery into the penalty area, D. Georgevičius headed the ball, however, M. Bertašius demonstrated an excellent reaction. After an hour of play, A. Benchaibas posed a threat once again, but his shot missed the target.

In the 73rd minute, the ball ended up in M. Bertašius' goal when, after G. Sirgėdas' pass into the penalty area, Anton Tolordava scored with a header while falling. Right at the end of the match, Fabien Ourega passed the ball forward to A. Benchaibas, who had a good chance but failed to hit the goal area. However, the point in the match was secured by F. Ourega himself – the Frenchman intercepted the ball and took advantage of an opponent's mistake to double the score.

After the matches of the 18th round of the "TOPsport A Liga", "Banga" remains in 8th place in the league table with 21 points, while "Kauno Žalgiris", having secured the victory, stays first with 40 points on their account.
