FC Kauno Žalgiris continues to assemble its squad for the upcoming season and looks to the future. The Lithuanian champions have extended the contract with 20-year-old striker Tomas Stelmokas for another three years and have once again loaned him to another A League club.

A member of the Lithuanian youth national teams, he will play in the 2026 season on loan at Telšiai's FC Džiugas.

"Tomas proved last year in the First League that he has outgrown that league and needs to play in the A League. He needs to get as many minutes as possible, which is why we decided to loan him. We see Tomas's potential and hope that after a good season and gaining experience, he will return to Kaunas; thus, we extended his contract this winter," said the club's sports director Darius Šinkūnas.

As a graduate of the FC Kauno Žalgiris academy, he made his debut in the country’s top league in the 2023 season while wearing the green and white jersey, and in 2025 he already marked his first goal.

T. Stelmokas was even more valuable to the "Kauno Žalgiris B" team in the "First League" championship. In 2025, the young striker was one of the top scorers in the second tier of the country, having found the net 19 times during the season.

At the end of 2025, T. Stelmokas also made his debut in the Lithuanian U-21 men's national team.
