Kaunas Žalgiris defeated a Danish club in Turkey

The FK "Kauno Žalgiris," preparing for a training camp in Turkey, achieved another victory in a friendly match. The team coached by Eivinas Černiauskas defeated the Danish club "Esbjerg" 2:1 (1:0) in Antalya.

In the second minute of the match, Amine Benchaiba took a shot from a distance towards the goal area, but the Danish goalkeeper saved the shot.

In the 17th minute, Rokas Lekiatas headed the ball towards the goal after a pass from Leo Ribeiro, and shortly after another set piece, the first goal was scored.

In the 19th minute, Gratas Sirgėdas made a pass, A. Benchaibas touched the ball with his head in the penalty area, and it was directed into the net by Davis Ikauniekas – 1:0.

After almost half an hour, the same Latvian player took another shot, but this time it did not trouble the goalkeeper.

In the 40th minute, the Kaunas team nearly increased their lead. Leo Ribeiro took a long shot with the outside of his foot and hit the goalpost, and D. Ikauniekas also made a dangerous attempt on the rebound.

At the very end of the half, Yukiyoshi Karashima missed a good opportunity when he broke away in front of the goalkeeper.

Just after the start of the second half, the opponents managed to equalize the score. Deividas Mikelionis saved the first shot from the opponents, but on the second attempt, the ball ended up in the net – 1:1.

In the 69th minute, Fabien Ourega, who appeared on the field after a substitution, had a great opportunity, but he failed to direct the ball into the goal.

In the 74th minute, goalkeeper Joris Aliukonis, who stepped onto the field after a substitution, had to demonstrate his abilities by saving a long shot from the opponents.

In the 79th minute, Motiejus Burba attempted a shot from a distance, and later, after a corner, Tautvydas Burdzilauskas missed with his header.

In the 87th minute, the Žalgiris team managed to take the lead. Leo Ribeiro intercepted the ball, himself covered several dozen meters, and sent the ball into the net, making it the winning goal – 2:1.
