The break for the national team was used by FK "Kauno Žalgiris" to play a friendly match in neighboring Poland. Eivinas Černiauskas' team defeated the local "Jagiellonia" squad 3:2 (3:2) in Białystok, which was formed from the main and B teams.
Just in the second minute of the match, the pressure from the Kaunas side paid off – the opponents made a mistake, and after Fedir Chernykh's pass, Davis Ikaunieks sent the ball into the net.
After a few minutes, the home team organized a successful attack, and the ball was redirected into their own net by Yukiyoshi Karashima – 1:1.
In the 12th minute of the meeting, D.Ikaunieks had another chance to score, but he shot wide of the goal.
After almost half an hour, the Latvian once again put "Kauno Žalgiris" ahead after scoring an own goal – 2:1. However, already in the 35th minute, "Jagiellonia" equalized with a superb free kick – 2:2.
At the very end of the first half, Franco Baldassarra was fouled in the penalty area, and Amine Benchaiba converted the 11 m penalty – 3:2.
After the break, the picture on the field essentially remained unchanged, though both teams had significantly fewer chances, and no more goals were scored.
Davis Ikaunieks also made his debut among "Kauno Žalgiris" after arriving from Nigeria and integrating into the club system.
