Kaunas Žalgiris beats Šiauliai - for the first time in club history in the LFF Cup final.

"The Kaunas Žalgiris football players reached the LFF Cup final for the first time in the club's history. In the semifinal match, the Lithuanian champions defeated the FA 'Šiauliai' players 1:0 (0:0) away from home.

In the 14th minute, the Žalgiris players intercepted the ball near the opponents' penalty area, but Ivan Fioličius shot inaccurately.

After a few minutes, 'Šiauliai' had their response, but the Kaunas goal was reliably guarded by Deividas Mikelionis.

In the middle of the half, I. Fioličius made two more attempts, while Leo Ribeiro's shot was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

In the 35th minute of the match, Antonas Tolordava was close to scoring, but after a corner, his shot went just past the post.

Right at the end of the first half, the aforementioned Leo Ribeiro hit the crossbar with a left-footed shot, Jorisas Moutachy also made a dangerous attempt, and Nosa Edokpoloro's shot was also inaccurate.

From the very start of the second half, the green-white team controlled the situation and eventually turned their game advantage into a goal. Following Leo Ribeiro's shot, Anthony Kalikas scored with a header – 1:0. By the way, this was his first goal for the green-white team.

In the 68th minute, Renanas Oliveira, who appeared on the field as a substitute, had a great chance, but the header was deflected by G. Baliutavičius.

In the 84th minute, the hosts had a great opportunity to equalize, but their shot from a few meters flew over the goal.

At the very end of the regular time, Motiejus Burba had his chance, and D. Mikelionis had to save the team during added time. Finally, the match ended with a victory for Kaunas 1:0.

In the LFF Cup final on October 11, the Žalgiris players will meet with the Kretinga 'Minija' club, which competes in the First League, at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium.
