"Kaunas Žalgiris” football players played their last match of June and, after winning it, reached the LFF Cup semifinals. Under the temporary coach Algis Jankauskas, the Žalgiris players defeated the Vilnius BFA team in the quarterfinal match away with a score of 3:0 (1:0).

In the 18th minute of the match, forward Davis Ikauniekas had a great chance to score, but he failed to direct the ball into the net when left alone with the goalkeeper.

The BFA team managed to score, but the goal was disallowed by the match officials due to an offside call.

In the 32nd minute of the match, the Kaunas team crafted a superb counterattack, where, after a pass from Motiejus Burbas, Leo Ribeiro brought "Kaunas Žalgiris” ahead with a beautiful shot on goal.

Just a few minutes later, the green and white could have increased their lead, but the shot from D.Ikauniekas went over the crossbar.

At the beginning of the second half, the Lithuanian champions quickly increased their advantage. Nosa Edokpolor sent the ball into the net from a rebound in the penalty area – 2:0.

In the 70th minute, Deivis Mikelionis had to work as he saved a ball shot by the opponents into the lower corner of the goal.

In the 78th minute, Haris Kadričius, who made his debut in the team, had his chance, but the shot was saved by the goalkeeper.

In the 87th minute, H.Kadričius won an aerial duel and set up Motiejus Burbas in a comfortable position, who did not miss and further increased the lead – 3:0.

In the LFF Cup semifinals, the Žalgiris players will face the winners of the pairing between Telšiai "Džiugas” and FA "Šiauliai” away.
