The French national team tried to create a miracle in the Nations League semifinal match against Spain.
In the middle of the second half, Didier Deschamps' team was trailing 1:5, but eventually managed to narrow the gap and suffer an honorable defeat of 4:5.
As soon as the final whistle of referee Michael Oliver sounded, a peculiar moment occurred in the middle of the field when French striker Kylian Mbappe grabbed the referee's watch.
After the match, the Frenchman spoke:
"I disagreed with the referee's decision to end the match, but if I start talking about it more, people will think I’m furious.
When five added time minutes are given, you are required to play for those five minutes,” explained K. Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe really grabbed Michael Oliver's wrist to look at how much time was left on his watch 💀🤣 pic.twitter.com/lLmsbaz8BO
