J. Musiala: 'At 16, I didn’t plan to leave England'

Jamal Musiala grew up in London until the age of 16, where he represented the Chelsea team. He planned to play for the England national team in the future and play in the Premier League, but everything quickly changed when Bayern Munich made a serious offer.

At that time, the Bavarian team offered £170,000 to Chelsea, and the offer was accepted. The Englishman continued his football journey in Germany.

The Athletic attacking midfielder said: "I didn’t plan to leave England and move to Germany. I had just finished my exams in London, and I really enjoyed my time at Chelsea."

Musiala went on to explain how the decision was made: "Still, I knew what a big club Bayern Munich is."

Upon receiving the offer, I thought: "Why not? Take the opportunity given to you, just try it and see if something works out."
