Brighton club midfielder James Milner has etched his name into the historical records.

The midfielder played his 653rd match in the Premier League in the encounter against Birmingham's Aston Villa.

With this figure, the Englishman matched former Manchester City player Gareth Barry.

The head coach of the Seagulls, Fabian Hurzeler, had high praise for this player:
