J. Klopp: 'I didn't want to train Man United because they wanted the best players' © AFP

The legendary head coach of the "Liverpool" club, Jurgen Klopp, revealed why he did not want to coach the "Manchester United" team for nearly a decade:

"It was the year 2016. There were things said to me in meetings that I didn't like. We will bring you all the players you want: one player or another or yet another. I sat there, and my reaction was this: yes, this is not my kind of project, I apologize."

"I didn't want Paul Pogba to come. I didn't want to bring Cristiano Ronaldo; things just wouldn't work... and it wouldn't help this club project in the long term."

"Their idea was to summon the best players – but they would never create good football. Later came a real football project – that is the "Liverpool" team."

Jurgen Klopp coached the "Liverpool" club from 2016 to 2023 and fought for the Premier League, Champions League, and other titles.
