In 2025, the historic – first triumph of the football club "Kauno Žalgiris" in the Lithuanian championship – was immortalized in the streets of Kaunas. A wall in Naujamiestis was adorned with impressive graffiti dedicated to the country's champions.
The more than 150 square meters painting in green and white commemorates the title won by the Kaunas team after an 18-year break. The mural is dedicated to the "Kauno Žalgiris" team and honors their achievement.
The mural depicts the key faces of the team: the captain of the Lithuanian men's national football team and "Kauno Žalgiris", Fedor Černych, long-time club players Gratas Sirgėdas and Deividas Mikelionis, the head coach Eivinas Černiauskas who led the team during the championship season, the defensive pillar from Colombia Aldair Hernández, and the best football player of the 2025 Lithuanian championship Amine Benchaib.
The author of the mural is one of the most famous street artists in Lithuania, Timotiejus Norvila, better known by the name Morfai. The artist Hodas Art also contributed to the realization of the work. The author has created several striking works in Kaunas, and his creations have become an integral part of shaping the city's identity.
"I am glad to have had the opportunity to immortalize the historic achievement of the Kaunas football club. Not everyone knows yet that alongside a strong basketball tradition, the city today has an ambitious football team. I hope this vibrant symbol will not only remind us of this achievement but also strengthen the victorious spirit of Kaunas," said T. Norvila.
The graffiti can be seen live on Karaliaus Mindaugo Avenue, on the wall surrounding the former "Pergalės" corporation territory.
