In a Dramatic Quarterfinal of the European Championship – Italian Triumph

The Italy women's national football team is in the semifinals of the European Championships.

In a dramatic quarterfinal, the Italians defeated Norway 2:1.

Cristiana Girelli scored to put Italy ahead in the 50th minute.

In the 60th minute, Ada Hegerberg failed to convert a penalty kick. However, after 6 minutes, the leader of the Norway team equalized with a goal from open play.

The match was heading toward extra time when Girelli scored another goal. After a very precise shot from Sofia Cantore, the forward sent the ball into the Norwegian net.

In the semifinals, Italy will face the winner of the Sweden – England matchup.
