Gelgaudiškis ‘Šaltinis’ Education Center Football Cup

On September 28, an integration football tournament was held at the Gelgaudiškis "Šaltinis" education center football field, where teams from Vilkija Gymnasium, Vilkija FK "Vilkija", Gelgaudiškis FK "Gelgaudiškis", the town of Ringaudai, Kybartai "Jaunystė", and the host team competed.

In the Gelgaudiškis "Šaltinis" education center football cup, six teams competed, divided into two groups. After all the matches were played in the groups, in the fight for fifth place, Kybartai "Jaunystė" defeated the team from Ringaudai 2-1. The team from Gelgaudiškis "Šaltinis" education center secured bronze medals by defeating Vilkija FK "Vilkija" with a score of 3-2. The winners of the tournament were the players of Gelgaudiškis FK "Gelgaudiškis", who narrowly defeated Vilkija Gymnasium 2-1.

The tournament winners were awarded trophies and medals established by the Marijampolė County Football Federation, which were presented by Sidona Mikšytė, a teacher at the Gelgaudiškis "Šaltinis" education center, Robertas Beniulis, the coach of Gelgaudiškis FK "Gelgaudiškis", and Oleh Fedorchak, the coach of Vilkija Gymnasium and Vilkija FK "Vilkija".

Integration football events encourage cooperation and mutual understanding among people of different abilities, ages, and social groups.
