The Lithuanian men's national football team will start 2026 with a friendly match in Moldova.

The match will kick off at 17:00, and it will be broadcast live on LRT PLIUS (link)

In the evening before the match, the Lithuanians held an official training session at the match venue – the "Zimbru" stadium in Chișinău – and afterwards shared thoughts with the national team's head coach Edgaras Jankauskas.

"All the players are healthy and ready, we had a couple of days to talk, feel the grass, and I think everything is fine. We used the time well and are prepared for the match.

I believe the most important thing was that the players got some rest, as many of them played on Sunday, and the fatigue is still somewhat felt; it was necessary to control the physical load so that the players would be as rested as possible.

A big boost for us is also the return of Armandas [Kučys], of course, the team always knows that he will successfully receive the ball, which adds confidence to the team. We will try to utilize his presence on the field and hope for his support. However, one should not expect that he will solve everything alone, but he is a very important part of our team, and it's great to have him with us," said the coach.
