One of the most famous football agents of recent decades, Jonathan Barnett, has made headlines in a gruesome story.

The now-retired 75-year-old millionaire has faced serious accusations from a woman.

The Guardian reports that the man is suspected of torturing and raping a woman 39 times over a period of six years, whom he brought from Australia in 2017.

In the past, J. Barnett gained significant fame for facilitating a record transfer when, in 2012, forward Gareth Bale moved from Tottenham to Real Madrid for a fee of €101 million.

The Brit's agency still represents players such as Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush.
