Former famous Lithuanian player is sentenced to long imprisonment

Former FBK "Kaunas" and Lithuanian national team defender Tadas Papečkys is being sent to prison for a long time.

The 46-year-old man was sentenced to 8 years in prison for committing a horrific crime.

In January 2024, the intoxicated man from Kaunas stabbed his good acquaintance to death at home.

It is reported that T. Papečkys will also have to significantly lighten his wallet – he was ordered to pay a one-time compensation of 100,000 euros to the wife of the murdered man.

For the committed crime, the well-known man faced the prospect of spending 7 to 15 years behind bars.

The court's verdict is not final and can still be appealed.
