The transfer of Eindhoven PSV forward Ricardo Pepi to London’s Fulham, which was supposed to happen soon, is being canceled.
The American was set to move to the English team for 36 million euros, and an agreement had been reached a few days ago.
The failed deal was confirmed to ESPN by PSV's sporting director Earnest Stewart:
"In the end, no agreement was reached on when the responsibility for the player would be handed over.”
"R. Pepi really wanted this transfer. It is an especially difficult situation for him.
We are happy to retain a good forward.”
"Head coach Peter Bosz will need to discuss with him the possibility of appearing on the pitch on Sunday.”
Knowing R. Pepi, this will have no effect. He feels no resentment towards the PSV team and in this regard is similar to another player, Joey Veerman.
Ricardo Pepi was close to joining Fulham both last summer and this week.
R. Pepi's contract with PSV runs until the summer of 2030.
23-year-old Ricardo Pepi has been playing for the Dutch team since 2023 and has scored 39 goals in 95 matches.
This season, the forward has scored 13 times in 27 matches.
