The football academy "Šiauliai," competing in the highest division of the country, looks to the future – the yellow-and-black team has sealed a deal with promising member of the Lithuania U19 national team and a forward who has recently been scoring goals in the TOPsport First League, Nedas Garbaliuskas.
The 18-year-old arrives in the City of the Sun from the capital, where he learned most of his football skills in the Baltic Football Academy system, which currently plays in the second highest division of the country. However, Nedas moved to Vilnius from his hometown of Mažeikiai when he was just twelve years old.
The young player from Mažeikiai is consistently invited to his age group national teams, and two years ago, he also spent a year in Italy, where he developed in the youth football system of Genoa "Genoa."
This year, the forward has already scored 9 goals and has become the best young player of the month in the TOPsport First League.
"I am very happy to have joined the team from the City of the Sun. The communication with the club was at the highest level, so I am very pleased to become a part of it. I received a lot of trust from the management and coaching staff, and also, the fact that "Šiauliai" is a team based on Lithuanians impresses me and contributed to my final decision.
I also want to thank the Baltic Football Academy very much, thanks to which I grew in the right environment and had the opportunity to integrate into men's football – I wish it the greatest success.
In the coming year, I hope to help the City of the Sun organization achieve all its set goals and return to the battles of European tournaments. I promise the entire community that I will give my all, no matter what. See you at the stadium!" – added N. Garbaliuskas, who joined the team with a positive attitude.
The newest member of the team today signed a long-term contract with the club, and for the remaining part of the season, he will wear the jersey marked with the number 83.
