Lithuanian champion FK "Kauno Žalgiris" began the series of the second UEFA Champions League qualification round in the Faroe Islands against the champion of this country, "Klaksvik." The first match ended in a goalless draw - 0:0.

The players of "Klaksvik" started the match with slightly more successful attacks, making several shots, but they did not cause any problems for the goalkeeper of "Kauno Žalgiris."

Later, the players from Kaunas took the initiative, controlling the ball longer in the opponent's half of the field, but they still failed to create any really good opportunities. Anton Tolordava headed the ball after a corner kick, and Nosa Edokpolor and Vykintas Slivka struck from distance without success.

At the beginning of the second half, the hosts had a decent opportunity, but Tomas Švedkauskas saved the shot from a set piece.

The players of "Klaksvik" began to play bolder in the second half, increasingly building up their attacks and forcing the Žalgiris players to play defensively.

One of the most dangerous episodes created by the Žalgiris players in the second half occurred during a corner kick when, after Franco Baldassarri's pass, Rokas Lekiatas made a header attempt.

In the 88th minute, the players from Kaunas broke away on a counterattack, Motiejus Burba made a good pass, but the opponents thwarted V.Slivka's shot from a comfortable position at the last moment.
