The upcoming world football championship will have somewhat different matches. A fairly strict rule will be introduced.

It has been announced that due to the heat, there will be a 3.5-minute break in the first and second halves of the matches. The matches will not be stopped; instead, time will be added at the end of the main 45 minutes.

Furthermore, for at least a few matches, a model may be applied where substitute players watch the action on the field from the locker room via a television screen.

Such situations occurred in the last world club championship, which also took place in North America last summer.

The World Cup will start on June 11 next summer.
