FIFA dismissed Iran's national team's request.

As hostilities have broken out in the Middle East region, the Iranians asked the global football organization to move their matches of the 2026 World Cup from the USA to Mexico.

According to FIFA representatives, Iran will not receive any concessions and must compete according to the pre-established schedule.

Having qualified for their fourth consecutive World Cup, the Iranians will have to play their first match on June 16, when they face the New Zealand team in Los Angeles.
