A possible racism scandal that echoed a couple of days ago at the World Club Cup tournament may quickly fade away.
FIFA representatives confirmed that after the match between Real Madrid and Pachuca, they followed the established procedures and rapidly investigated Antonio Rudiger's complaint, which claimed that his opponent, Gustavo Cabral, called him a "black piece of shit".
However, not everything is that simple.
It is reported that FIFA faced difficulties proving the Argentine's guilt. It is practically impossible for the global football organization to determine what words were spoken during the players' conversation.
FIFA cannot easily confirm a case of racism, as that would require imposing a minimum 10-match suspension on the offending player according to very strict rules.
