As the 2026 World Cup approaches, FIFA intends to further enhance the show created by football players on the field.

According to the English media, the organization's leader Gianni Infantino, along with other specialists, wants to adjust certain football rules.

Perhaps the most important change concerns penalty kicks.

Mr. Infantino would like to eliminate the possibility of a retake, meaning that if the goalkeeper saves the ball, the attacker would no longer be able to correct their mistake.

Additionally, FIFA is considering that during matches, the VAR system could have more influence and could be used to more accurately determine awarded corners or yellow cards.
