The intrigue in the battle for the English Premier League has reached its highest point.
On Sunday, in a crucial match, Manchester City defeated league leaders Arsenal 2-1 at home.
Both teams started the match actively, and the first goal came into the visitors' net when Rayan Cherki sent the ball into the net after a great run in the 16th minute.
Just a couple of minutes later, City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made a very serious mistake, and taking advantage of that, Kai Havertz equalized the score.
In the second half, both teams continued to create chances; however, the visitors were somewhat more dangerous, but once again, the goal fell into their net.
In the 65th minute, Erling Haaland exposed himself in the penalty area, defeated David Raya, and put Man City ahead once again. As it turned out later, this was the winning goal of the match.
At the end of the match, Arsenal had several excellent chances to equalize the score but were unable to capitalize on them.
After this victory, the Citizens still trail Arsenal by three points, but they have a game in hand, which they will play against Burnley on Wednesday.
