Fantastic Ribeiro goal allows Hegelmann to remain among A League leaders

In the 12th round of the "TOPsport A League," Kauno rajono "Hegelmann" played their matches in their home stadium after almost a month break. In front of their own fans, the blue and white team fought for victory against Telšiai's "Džiugas" with a score of 1:0 (1:0).

In the first minutes of the match, the visitors attacked dangerously – Frajus Kayramani passed the ball to David Martin Anane, and the latter's shot was saved by Vincentas Šarkauskas, who had started in the starting eleven after a long time. Shortly after, Esmilis Kaušinis made an attempt with his head, which did not find the target.

In the 38th minute, Leo Ribeiro stood out with an impressive goal. The Brazilian, charging down the left flank, confused a couple of opponents and sent the ball into the top corner of the net from quite an acute angle. In the 50th minute, the score could have doubled, but the Telšiai team defended well against a sharp pass from Jonathan Mulder.

In the remaining part of the second half, threats arose near the goal defended by V. Šarkauskas. Oleksandras Kurcevas shot next to the goal, and D. Anane's kicked ball was caught by the goalkeeper. A little later, Deitonas Vinckus delivered another shot on target; D. Vinckus's spinning shot flew above the rectangle.

After the matches of the 12th round of the "TOPsport A League," "Hegelmann" remains among the leaders with 24 points, while "Džiugas," which fought to the end, has 18 points and ranks fifth.
