Real Madrid star Federico Valverde received special recognition on Wednesday evening.

The French football magazine L'Equipe awarded the versatile Uruguayan midfielder a 10 for his performance against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

Valverde, who has not scored a goal in the Champions League since April 2024, netted a hat-trick against Man City.

Real created a significant advantage against the citizens, winning 3-0.

Regarding the 10-point score from L'Equipe, 20 players have been awarded such a score throughout history, excluding this evening in Madrid. Earlier this season, Joao Neves received a 10 for his performance with the Toulouse team, and fellow PSG player Desire Doue also received this rating for his outstanding performance in the Champions League final against Inter.
