The Italian national team defeated Northern Ireland 2-0 in the additional qualifying match for the World Cup.
The "Azzurri" defender Federico Dimarco stated that he respects the upcoming opponents, the Bosnians:
"I respect all clubs and especially national teams."
It was an instinctive reaction; I was among my friends when we watched the penalty shootout."
"We will have to create a hellish match atmosphere. It will take a strong character to win against them."
I spoke with Edin Džeko, my friend, and congratulated him. I will reiterate that I showed no disrespect to anyone – neither to Bosnia nor to the Bosnians.
We are decent people."
The crucial match for qualification will be played by the Italians next Tuesday against the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
