Euro 2024 Qualifiers: Lithuania Draws Against Malta

The World Cup qualifying match – a dramatic draw for the Lithuanian team against Malta 1:1 (0:0).

In the first half, Gvido Gineitis created several dangerous chances, which were extinguished by the Maltese defense.

It is worth mentioning that during the first half six yellow cards were handed out, two of which were received by Lithuanian players.

After the break, the football was a bit sluggish again, but around the 65th minute, the game picked up pace. Malta came very close to scoring at least twice before they finally succeeded.

In the 83rd minute, Alexander Satariano scored a goal by sending the ball into the net from very close range.

During stoppage time, the visitors lost one player. Jake Azzopardis received a red card for a rough foul.

In the 6th minute of stoppage time, Gvidas Gineitis equalized the score. He scored a goal from the penalty mark after Maltese players committed a foul in the penalty area against Eligijus Jankauskas.
