Džiugas" showed no mercy to "Hegelmann

In the 11th round of TOPLYGOS, the teams from Telšiai, "Džiugas," and Kaunas district, "Hegelmann," faced off. The blue and whites, looking pale, capitulated in Klaipėda and suffered a crushing defeat against Telšiai with a score of 0:3 (0:2).

The preliminary home team didn't take long and surged ahead in the 5th minute when, during a set piece, Jakub Wawrzyniak sent the ball into the penalty area, and Ronald Sobowale directed it into the net with his head. Soon after, the Pole himself attempted a long-range shot, but the ball whistled just past the rectangle.

In the last minute of the half, the Telšiai team managed to intercept the ball in a dangerous zone, and Denis Ževžikovas took advantage of this by scoring with a powerful shot into the bottom right corner, defeating the opponent's goalkeeper. During added time, Kaderas Njoya Abdel attempted an acrobatic shot over himself, just missing the target.

In the second half, J. Wawrzyniak continued to distribute the balls well, and in the 58th minute, he managed to find Iker Scott, whose shot flew past the rectangle. Andrius Lipskis's squad further solidified the score in the 68th minute when R. Sobowale, having made a run across the field, accomplished a double.

After 11 unsuccessful attempts in a row, "Džiugas" defeated "Hegelmann" and with 20 points, at least temporarily, climbed to 2nd place in the tournament table. The blue and whites have 9 points in their account and are ranked 8th.
