"Džiugas” defeated the outsiders "Dainava”

After a long break, the "TOPsport A league" match took place at the central stadium of the city of Telšiai. The "Džiugas" players did not spoil the celebration for the fans and secured a confident victory with a score of 2:0 (2:0).

At the very beginning of the match, Davidas Martinas Anane confused the opposing defender and shot at the goal defended by Airidas Mickevičius, but the latter successfully deflected the ball.

The 26th minute was marked by the first goal of the match - D. M. Anane made a great pass into the penalty area, and Oleksandras Kurcevas was the first to rush in, putting the team ahead. This was already the third goal of the young Ukrainian in this season.

After conceding the goal, the defender from Alytus, Artiomas Litviakovas, attempted a long-range shot, but the ball sailed past the post.

In the 36th minute, the advantage was solidified by the players from Telšiai - D. M. Anane provided another assist, and a powerful shot from Karolis Šilkaitis resulted in another goal. The representatives of "Džiugas" headed into halftime with a solid two-goal lead.

After the break, D. M. Anane could have added a goal to his two assists, but he was unable to overcome goalkeeper A. Mickevičius. The representatives of "Dainava" responded with an attack - Davoro Rakičius's shot into the far corner of the goal went just next to the posts defended by Marius Paukštė.

In the remaining time, the players of "Dainava" took the initiative, but they could not overcome the disciplined defense of the players from Telšiai, as well as goalkeeper M. Paukštė.

The "Džiugas" team, having secured the victory, jumped three places up and currently stands in 2nd place with 18 points. The mood in the Alytus camp is much gloomier - the club has only 2 points and occupies the last place in the tournament standings.
