Drama in the LFF Cup Final Rehearsal – 'Hegelmann' Triumph

The 29th round of the Lithuanian Football A League, sponsored by "TOPsport," continued at the "Aukštaitija" stadium, where the home team "Panevėžys" met the "Hegelmann" from Kaunas district. This week, the teams fought for victories in the FPRO LFF Cup semifinals and will meet in the final next week, while today the "Hegelmann" players celebrated a narrow victory of 1:0 (0:0).

The first serious fire occurred on the guests' side – after Rokas Rasimavičius' pass, Marko Bačaninas shot towards the lower far corner of the goal, but the shot was saved by goalkeeper Vincentas Šarkauskas.

In the middle of the half, Njoya Abdelas Kaderas had a good opportunity to put the team ahead – Donatas Kazlauskas intercepted the ball and found the striker from Cameroon with a pass, but the latter's shot was saved by Vytautas Černiauskas. Soon the goalkeeper had to work again with D. Kazlauskas' shot from outside the penalty area.

In the 38th minute, Salomonas Kouadio dangerously shot after a set piece, and the ball whistled just past the post guarded by V. Šarkauskas.

In the second half, the teams lacked precision, and one could think that the match would end without goals. However, a precise attack was organized by Andrius Skerla's pupils in the 84th minute, and the accurate shot in the second consecutive match was scored by Wesley Gabriel, who came on as a substitute.

The blue and white team confidently holds the 2nd position with 56 points, while the visitors from Panevėžys have 38 points and sit in 7th place.
