The head coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, commented on Kylian Mbappé's injury after the victory with a score of 3:0 against Azerbaijan:

"This is the same ankle that had been hurting him before. The pain would decrease when he rested.

During the match, it is inevitable that there will be a lot of contact. We will address this. He feels discomfort, which is definitely not pleasant for him.”

Kylian Mbappé returned to Madrid for treatment due to this injury.
