Curiosity in Nigeria: a player presumed dead rises from the morgue

Nigerian football was shaken by an unprecedented scandal.

While still alive, the player was taken to the morgue, and his team and teammates began writing condolence messages on social media.

The gruesome story began during a friendly match when "Katsina United" defender Chinedu Opara collapsed on the field.

Local medical staff attempted to provide him first aid, and later the footballer was taken to the hospital.

Soon, the club officially announced that C. Opara had died and publicly sent condolences to his relatives.

However, the situation quickly turned upside down.

Morgue staff noticed that the defender's hands began to move and immediately returned the athlete to the hospital.

There, he was connected to an oxygen device, and the medics began treatment.

The absurd situation once again sparked discussions in Nigeria about the poor quality of healthcare institutions.
