The "Crystal Palace" team won the FA Cup last season and earned the right to compete in the UEFA Europa League.

However, according to UEFA rules, clubs controlled by the same person or entity cannot compete in the same European tournament.

The management of "Crystal Palace" involves American businessman John Textor, who also owns a majority stake in the French club "Lyon."

For this reason, "Crystal Palace" was granted the right to play only in the UEFA Conference League, while "Nottingham Forest" advanced to the Europa League.

Nonetheless, "Crystal Palace" appealed this UEFA decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. However, the court did not issue a decision favorable to the London club.

On Monday, the BBC reported that the court upheld UEFA's decision, and "Crystal Palace" will have to settle for a place in the Conference League, while "Nottingham" players will compete in the Europa League.
