Crushing victory for 'Panevėžys' in Telšiai

Another match of the 33rd round of the "TOPsport” sponsored Lithuanian Football A League took place in Panevėžys, where the local team did not spare the guests. "Panevėžys” defeated Telšiai's "Džiugas” without much resistance, achieving a result of 4:1 (3:0).

Having played just under half of the first half, Lucas de Vega found Gaston Romano in a difficult situation, but his attempt was stopped by Danylo Ryabenko. The Panevėžys team responded with a goal – after Ernesto Veliulis' pass, Marko Bačanino's shot hit the goal frame, and the Telšiai players failed to clear the ball from the penalty area, which was taken advantage of by Elivelto Ribeiro Dantas.

In the 26th minute, the score doubled when Salomonas Kouadio was stopped by the opponent's goalkeeper, and Rokas Rasimavičius sent the rebound into the net. That was not all in the first half: E. Veliulis provided an assist to Lucas de Vega, who skillfully lifted the ball over the opponent's goalkeeper.

In the 53rd minute, Abdoulas Dante fouled Simonas Urbys in his own penalty area, and Ibrahimas Cisse converted the penalty. After just over an hour of play, the scorer of the goal for Džiugas attempted a dangerous header from a corner, but the shot went straight to Vytautas Černiauskas.

Ryabenko had to react to Ernesto Veliulis' shot, and the point in the match was secured by Ariagneris Smith during added time, who scored after R. Rasimavičius' assist.

After the match, "Panevėžys” has 46 points and will have the opportunity to secure 6th place in the championship in the next round, while "Džiugas” with 42 points ranks one step lower.
