The London "Chelsea" club has been fined by the English "Premier" League.

The "Aristocrats" have been fined £10.7 million for violations committed in the acquisition of players for both the main and youth teams.

All violations were recorded between 2011 and 2018, when the club was led by Roman Abramovich.

BBC reports that the club was making unauthorized payments to agents and other interested parties who helped acquire certain players. It has been reported that violations were recorded in acquiring such footballers as Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o, Willian, David Luiz, or Nemanja Matic.

Interestingly, the new owners of "Chelsea" informed the league about possible violations back in 2022.

"Chelsea" has been banned from registering new players in their academy for nine months, and a suspended ban has also been imposed for a year on registering new players in the main team; however, this ban will only take effect if the club commits further violations of these rules within the next two years.
