Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso will face even more pressure.
In today's UEFA Champions League match, the royal club lost 1:2 at home to Manchester City.
At the beginning of the match, the hosts were more active, but F. Valverde and A. Tchouameni's shots missed the target.
In the 28th minute, Real finally sparked a wave of applause in the stadium when Rodrygo scored, making it 1:0.
The Madrid club enjoyed the lead for a short time – in the 35th minute, N. O'Reilly accurately hit the target amidst confusion after a corner, equalizing the score (1:1).
The troubles for Real didn't end there – in the 43rd minute, the referee awarded a penalty to the Spaniards after a VAR review. E. Haaland did not miss and gave the city team a minimal advantage – 1:2.
In the second half, Real desperately tried to save themselves. However, attempts by J. Bellingham, Vinicius, and Endrick were fruitless, and Manchester City secured an important victory.
