"Kaunas Žalgiris" football players began their journey to the Faroe Islands on a charter flight from Kaunas airport on Monday, where on Tuesday evening they will face the first match of the second UEFA Champions League qualifying round against the champion of this country – Klaksvik club.
The live match broadcast will be awaited by football fans on TV6 channel starting at 21:35.
Staying in the country’s capital Torshavn, the Žalgiris players will play their match at the stadium of Klaksvik, the second largest city in the country, where they held their last training before the match.
"We knew that there could be issues with landing due to the fog, but everything was great. The flight lasted about 3 hours and we are happy to be here. The weather surprised us a bit, just as the rain surprised me when I arrived in Lithuania 20 times a day. Usually, the weather changes very quickly here, but we will be satisfied if the weather on match day is the same," said "Kaunas Žalgiris" head coach Željko Sopić in an interview.
