Manchester United midfielder Casemiro revealed that early in his career, his last name was misspelled, which stuck with the Brazilian:

My name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro, with an "I", not Casemiro. I remember playing a match for the Sao Paulo team, and the club misspelled my last name.

I played exceptionally well in that match, and I am a superstitious person. I said there was no need to change it, leave it as it is, because I performed excellently.

That's how Casemiro stuck, but I am Carlos Henrique Casimiro. It was a mistake made in one match, and it has been written as Casemiro ever since.

The 33-year-old Casemiro played for the Sao Paulo team from 2010 to 2013.

The Brazilian has been playing for Manchester United since 2022 and has scored 18 goals in over 130 matches.
