The leader of the Portugal national team, Cristiano Ronaldo, did not want to mince words in his conversation with journalist Piers Morgan.
According to the "Al Nassr" player, he is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming World Cup, where he intends to spring a surprise.
"How many times has Argentina won the world championship before the era of Lionel Messi? They are used to triumphing. Meanwhile, if we win, we will shock the whole world," C. Ronaldo stated.
He also did not hold a grudge against Englishman Wayne Rooney, who recently claimed that L. Messi is a better player than the Portuguese.
"No problem. Really. You have the right to choose your favorite footballer. If I ever see W. Rooney, I will shake his hand and hug him. I don't have time to be angry with other people."
C. Ronaldo also revealed why he did not attend the funeral of his tragically deceased compatriot Diogo Jota a few months ago.
"Why didn't I go? I just didn't want to. There were two reasons: I had never been to a cemetery after my father's funeral. Besides, you know that wherever I go, a circus starts. All the attention is focused on me, and I didn't want that."
