The 28th round of the Lithuanian Football A League, sponsored by "TOPsport," kicked off in Marijampolė. The teams "Sūduva" and "Panevėžys," who each scored a goal, played to a draw of 1:1 (0:1).

Supported by a large number of fans, the home team was a bit more active at the start of the match. Sidy Sanokho, having intercepted the ball, threatened the goal defended by Vytautas Černiauskas with a low shot, but the latter deflected the shot. Just shortly after, Salamonas Kouadio fired from a distance, but the ball rattled the crossbar.

In the 21st minute, the first goal of the match fell – Rokas Rasimavičius found Kwadwo Asamoah with an accurate pass, who led the guests ahead.

As the first half was nearing its end, K. Asamoah was close to a double, but this time the ball hit the post.

In the 58th minute, the Panevėžys team, very close to scoring, rattled the Marijampolė goal structure for the third time. Marko Bočaninas received an excellent pass from deep in the field, but once again, a bit of precision was missing for the goal.

Fifteen minutes later, the situation for the Sūduva team became even worse when Lucky Tomas, hitting not the ball but Justinas Januševskis' head, saw a red card shown to him.

The 90th minute was marked by an 11-meter penalty – a "Panevėžys" player handled the ball in his own penalty area, and Stevas Lawson, standing by the mark, gifted the team a point.

The Marijampolė team stands in 3rd place with 46 points, while the Panevėžys team is in 6th place with 38 points.
